Bacchanal originally started out as a two piece band with Aly and Chris and a drum machine affectionately referred to as "Ringo", some nights they were joined by Tam adding harmonica to a few rock 'n' roll numbers. At around the same time Bruce and Tam were jamming together with a few others with the hope of forming a blues band, the two of us would join Aly and Chris for short sets at our local pub, this became the starting point for Bacchanal.

After a few proper gigs as a band it was decided that we needed a real drummer so we were joined by our first drummer, the late Brian Buist.

We've since had a few drummers Including being joined by Ian Douglas (Lights Out By Nine) while we searched for our new drummer.

Whilst playing at The Balcony Bar in Dundee we first met and jammed with Dave.

Almost two years later we still have the same and the ultimate line up.
